St. Pierre-Jolys RCMP arrest wanted male south of Lorette

On December 30, 2025, the St. Pierre-Jolys RCMP responded to an unknown situation on Road 47N, in the RM of Tache.

Officers arrived and located a 24-year-old female, from Winnipeg, hiding in the snow and not dressed for the weather. The female was transported to hospital as a precaution. Officers learned that the victim had been assaulted.  

St. Pierre-Jolys RCMP have made many attempts to locate the suspect and on January 2, 2026, an arrest warrant for assault was obtained for the arrest of John Meadows, a 28-year-old male, from the RM of Tache. 

On June 17, after many months of looking for him, an entry warrant was obtained for a residence located on Road 47N, in the RM of Tache. He was also wanted on three arrest warrants for offences including Assault causing bodily harm, Trespass at night, Obstruction of justice, Operate motor vehicle while prohibited and Fail to attend court.

With the assistance of the Manitoba RCMP Emergency Response Team and Police Dog Services, the entry warrant was executed and John Meadows was arrested without incident. He was remanded into custody.
